How Purity Products is Reducing Their Paper Waste

There are many ways in which companies can make efforts to lend a hand in the environmental movement, as Purity Products is proving with their waste reduction policies. While Purity Products has made numerous efforts to save energy, and encourage recycling and carpooling among employees, they have also instituted waste reduction policies in their marketing. Purity Products started an initiative to trim down their paper consumption beginning with their packing and shipping systems as well.

Although the team at Purity Products understands that it will take many years to see their environmental goals come to fruition, they are willing to do their part to cut back on waste and save the earth’s resources. The first step that Purity Products has taken is to cut back on the weight of their catalogues by just a small amount without sacrificing the quality of the detailed product descriptions and graphics. By this effort alone, Purity Products is able to reduce their yearly paper usage by approximately 14 percent.

The Purity Products marketing team is also working with their vendors in order to use more post-consumer recycled paper for their future brochures and catalogues, and they are increasing their targeted Web marketing as well. By basing more of their advertising on the buying preferences of customers on the Internet, they can spread the word about their products without using any paper at all.

Since so much of their business is mail-based, Purity Products has no choice but to pack and ship their merchandise using paper and cardboard materials. The team at Purity Products is making an effort to work with vendors who will use more recycled paper shipping materials, though, as well as more water or soy based inks that are friendlier for the environment.

More companies are taking the responsibility to reduce waste and increase recycling, and the efforts are paying off.
